Welcome! My name is Samuel Blake and I am a graduate student at the University of Colorado Denver pursuing a Masters of Arts in Applied Geography and Geospatial Science. My educational interests include the ecological applications of remote sensing, GIS, and geospatial analysis. Aspiring to work in a professional career focusing on the spatial relationships between urban environments and ecology, I have closely aligned my academic endeavors to my personal interest in the outdoors. In the Department of Geography and Environmental Science, I am pursuing a thesis investigating the spatial distribution and species-level identification of urban trees through satellite imagery.

Outside of university, I enjoy many activities which align with my academic work. Mountain biking, scuba diving, and camping are a few hobbies I enjoy during my free time. I also love sending time with my dog and taking him hiking in the foothills of Colorado.
